We are a voluntary organisation which raises funds to support cancer charities in our local region.

One of our key ways of generating funds is through our 'fundraising with fun' entertainment programme. We organise events throughout the year which allows the community to come together and have a great night out. It also provides people with an opportunity to give back and support a worthy cause which will affect all of us in some way at some time in our lives. During the last two years the events have included, 'An Evening with Paul Rankin', Wine tasting at the Bay Horse Hurworth, and In the Pink Ball at Rockliffe Hall. Since our launch at In the Pink 2009, at the Cleveland Tontine we have raised in excess of £47,700 which has been donated to the Holistic Cancer Care Centre.

The centre is located in the grounds of James Cook University Hospital, Middlesbrough. It is a purpose built centre which offers a full range of complementary therapies for all patients and their carers across a wide region, comprising North Yorkshire, South West Durham, Hartlepool, Darlington and Cleveland.

The centre deals with the psychosocial problems associated with cancer and its treatment and focuses attention on emotional and spiritual aspects. The provision of complementary therapies working alongside conventional medicine has achieved considerable success with patients in terms of restoring confidence, self esteem and creating general awareness in dealing with the treatment of their illness.

In order for the Holistic Cancer Care Centre to provide it's current service, it needs to raise approx £200,000 a year. Additional funding would enable it to provide additional therapies such as art therapy, develop a group relaxation class and increase the number of treatments available to patients and their carers. The centre is entirely funded by voluntary donations from the public, local commerce and industry.
